New Trace Source for API Security: AWS VPC Traffic Mirroring

Panoptica enhances its API Security capabilities with the addition of AWS VPC Traffic Mirroring as a new source for API trace analysis.

Our integrations with various API gateways and service meshes already provide visibility into critical security risks detectable in actual HTTP API traces, such as broken or weak authentication and the presence of sensitive data in network flows.

With the introduction of Traffic Mirroring, Panoptica can now capture network traffic from an AWS Elastic Network Interface (ENI) in a VPC and redirect it out-of-band to the API Security controller for detailed trace analysis.

This feature extends our ability to detect potential security risks, now including those within east-west network traffic between EC2 instances, expanding our list of trace sources.
