Cisco AI Assistant for Panoptica (Preview)
The Cisco AI Assistant for Panoptica helps you find and resolve security issues by providing real-time answers and information using natural language queries.
The AI Assistant can provide information about security best practices, the Panoptica platform, and your security footprint. With the AI Assistant, you can investigate your security posture using natural language together with screenshots of the console, and get advice on how to fix the issues that were found.
The AI Assistant does not generate its own remediations but can provide access to remediations already present in Panoptica. The AI Assistant cannot write or edit anything in the customer environment.
The Cisco AI Assistant for Panoptica is a generative AI utilizing a large language model (LLM). It can provide contextually relevant information though it may be limited in areas that require highly specialized knowledge. The AI Assistant can make mistakes, make sure to verify responses before implementing them.
Using the Cisco AI Assistant for Panoptica
To access the AI Assistant, click the Cisco AI button in the lower right corner of the Panoptica console. The chatbox opens and the welcome message is displayed. Queries can be sent by clicking the send button or pressing Return. The response is displayed shortly.
Using the buttons under each of the AI Assistant’s responses, you can copy the message to your clipboard, see more details on the source of the information, and provide feedback on it. Your feedback helps to improve the AI Assistant's accuracy.
In the chat window, new chat tabs can be opened to start a new query by clicking on the + button. Message tabs can be closed by clicking the × button.
The chat history of the past seven days can be accessed by clicking the ≡. Through the History tab, chats can be renamed or permanently deleted. You can also start a new chat tab by clicking the Start a new chat + button.
Lens
The Lens feature enables you to ask the AI Assistant questions regarding items displayed in the Panoptica console. With click-and-drag selection, you can highlight an area of the console and give clear context to their query.
To use the Lens feature:
- Open the AI Assistant window and click the Lens icon in the input field.
The cursor turns into the Lens icon. - Click and drag over the area you want to know more about.
- Enter your question in the pop-up window.
- Click the Send button or press Return to send the query.
- The response is displayed shortly.
Note: The screenshot is not sent as part of the query, only saved in the chat for future reference.
Data and Privacy
All questions sent to the Cisco AI Assistant for Panoptica are logged and may be used to improve the feature. Data is retained for 90 days, in accordance with Panoptica policy. For more information, see Terms and Conditions and the Outshift Privacy Data Sheet.
The AI Assistant has access to customer data through the public Panoptica APIs. More information on APIs and sources used to generate the responses can be accessed by clicking the information button. The AI Assistant can send this data to the LLM provider where the data is not retained nor used for training purposes.
The Al Assistant operates using an LLM that is designed to provide responses to your queries based on the questions it receives. It does this without collecting or storing any of your personal (PII) data. It does, however, retain past conversations you have had so you can easily reference them in the future.
